Well I suppose I should update seeing that I haven't done it in the past twenty days. I suppose that I should start with ICON. It was an amazing time. Let’s see. Ok so once we got to our hotel in Atlanta after about ten hours of traveling. We unpacked and then went of to Turner Stadium. After about a half hour of sitting under the roof on the upper deck, the game gets canceled. We were all disappointed, but on the up side we got to go shopping in Atlanta Underground. AU is this huge underground mall. They have all sorts of boutiques there and a bunch of restaurants. We all just walked about in a big group. We all had our district t-shirts on, which were bright yellow. So we kind of stuck out. After a few fun hours we traveled back to the Hilton Atlanta. The next three days were kind of boring because they were the convention days. We went to some fun forums and some boring ones. We had an awesome service fair that was set up like a carnival. Then there were the general sessions. The first one we had an amazing keynote speaker, Scott Greenburg. He was one of the funniest, most inspirational people I've ever met. He told us his amazing story and tied it into all of our lives. The next general session was the awards session. Our entertainment for that night was the talent show winners. We saw six of the most talented young adults in the world perform. There were a few singers, a few dancers, and a piano soloist. It was quite the spectacle. The last general session brought to us the funniest thing I've ever seen. We were showed many hilarious things from Dr. Wand, who is a hypnotist. If anybody ever gets a chance to go see a hypnotist then you should defiantly go, especially when they take volunteers. You shouldn't volunteer because it is so much funnier to watch. But people will do anything when they are hypnotized. It was quite amazing, and one of the highlights of the trip. After the three day convention we went on our Pennsylvania District Tour. This is the more fun part of the convention. So, the next day we had a bus tour of Atlanta, we went to see Centennial Park, the mansions of Atlanta, and the Dr. King Jr. memorial. We did this on the way to our district tour hotel, the AmeriSuites. Once we got settled in again, we took a bus several miles north of Atlanta to Stone Mountain. This is the largest exposed piece of granite in the world. It also is the home to the world’s largest relief carving. It was all quite impressive to see, but because it was raining out we didn't stay for the laser light show. I was kind of disappointed but I didn't want to sit in the rain to watch it. So we went back to the hotel and played cards, hung out, and watched movies and the like. The next day we toured a bunch of different places. First, we went to the cyclorama. This is the largest oil painting in the world and it shows the story of the Battle of Atlanta. The painting is in a circle and it is 48 feet tall and about 435 feet in circumference. It was quite an impressive sight to see. What made it even better was that there was 30 feet of diorama between the painting and the seats that we sat in. In the low light when the story was being told you couldn't really tell where the diagram ended and the painting began. Second on the trip was The World of Coca-Cola. Coca-Cola's world headquarters is in Atlanta so they have this giant museum there. The best part of the museum was the taste testing room. They have all of there products from all over the world there so you could taste them. The Passion Fruit Fanta from New Guinea was the best. Then we went over to CNN, which is also based out of Atlanta. We went up the world’s largest free standing escalator, which was eight stories high, there. This was by far the most interesting tour. We saw everything that goes into bring the news to the world 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We saw the news room that is always in the background on CNN. Wolf Blitzer waved to us when we walked by. We learned quite a bit about how they do everything there. We also saw the other eight or nine CNN channels and there studios. That night we went to the ESPN sports bar and grill for dinner. This was fun because there wasn't just good food, but on the top floor there was every sports arcade game you could think of. I had fun playing this awesome racing game where you are on a floating motorcycle and you have to go through this high speed tubular race track. We all had fun with that one. That night we had birthday cake because we had several birthdays over the course of the convention (including mine on the ninth!!!). It was a sad goodbye in the Atlanta airport the next day. We left the hotel at ten o'clock in the morning but I didn't get home until nine o'clock at night. All in all it was an amazing trip and I'm looking forward to next year when we go to Boston. The only bad thing about the trip was I was away from Brei, but I did call her every night. I still missed her though. And since I got home I've been doing basically nothing. I play games on the gamecube and the computer. I have read at least four books this summer so far, and I still haven't started the six summer reading books yet. The Harry Potter book was amazing. It was extremely surprising, I loved it. I also finished the fifth Dark Tower book. So my life is pretty boring so far. I hung out with Brei a few times also. When ever I'm with her I am so extremely happy. I love it. We went and saw Charley and the Chocolate Factory the other day. I have to say it was so extremely crazy that it was amazing. Johnny Deep did such an excellent job as Wonka. Nobody else could have pulled it off half as well as he did. Drama should be quite interesting next year. We just had our first official officers meeting. It looks like we will be quite busy this year. I can't wait for it. I really want summer to be over already. I usually don't like summer because I'm always so bored during it. The only up side is that I could spend more time with Brei. But I still only see her once or twice a week. Also I should be getting my drivers license eventually. Then I could spend even more time with Brei. I can't wait. As for school, I am looking forward to my five AP classes this year. Hopefully they will be more interesting than the boring classes that I've had for the past eleven years. I'll still have seven study halls, though. And just because I want this to be my longest entry ever I'm going to do that survey that Raquel and Brei did.
